Creating Movement for Performance
This workshop is inspired by the teachings of Lecoq and is aimed for theatre makers and performers who are interested in exploring visual storytelling and physical performance making techniques in more detail. The aim of the workshop is to offer a range of tools that increase the theatre maker’s understanding of how movement and physicality can be used as an inspiration to develop dramatic-physical narrative, characters and emotional landscape while working on a story in an empty space. The workshop will concentrate on:
– physical improvisation
– creation of atmosphere/spaces
– developing choreographical sequences
– working with objects and music
– the role of the narrator
The students will be guided through a range of stages of the story making and will present a short piece on a selected story at the end of the workshop.
